BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND
Let’s talk about the topic of creating a legacy for yourself. Let’s start by talking about your funeral.
‘What do you want people to say about you at your funeral?’
‘What legacy do you want to leave behind?’
In the legendary self development/business classic, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Dr Stephen R. Covey he writes about Habit No.2 entitled:
“Begin With The End In Mind”
Which is all about having the forsight to project your outcome in life and mapping out the road to reaching that specific destination.
Imagination plays a huge part in the 2nd habit. There are many obstacles in our lives. One method that may work for one individual, may not be suitable for another. We are all unique and live life differently according to our environment, beliefs and ideals.
However the principles are basic fundamentals that are backed up with logic and common sense.
‘Begin With The End In Mind’, gives us clarity in what needs to be accomplished.
It begins by asking ourselves these questions,
“What Is Our True Purpose In This Life?”
“Is What I Have To Offer To The World Of Value?”
“How Can I Make An Impact?”
“What Will Be My Final Legacy I Leave Behind?”
Identifying our true purpose has to start from the centre, from deep within. We have to dive to the very core of what we aim to be. With a burning desire to fullfill our personal mission statement, learning to engage with others is paramount to your success. You keep yourself accountable and uphold certain high standards of yourself and of others. Thus, being able to work interdependently with one another in harmony.
‘Begin With The End In Mind‘, requires you to uphold other peoples values in conjunction with your values. In order to empower each other to come together and co-operate peacefully to accomplish success as a whole. Failure to do so can result in dire consequences and fatal outcomes.
So, the questions remain…
‘What Do You Want Your Final LEGACY To Be?’
‘What Would You Like People To Say About You At Your Funeral?’
Leave a lasting LEGACY…
‘BEGIN WITH THE END IN MIND‘
With Peace, Love and Happiness,
