Got your attention didn’t I?
The more common saying goes something along the lines like this, ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!’.
I beg to differ…’Why?’, you may ask. The alternative is also true, ‘If it ain’t broke, break it!’. Let me explain in just one word…
Hmm, you might be wondering, ‘Tell me more’…
Well…there’s beauty in imperfections. There are imperfections all around us. Imperfections help bring out the ‘creative side’ in us. We learn to appreciate imperfections and marvel in their wonder.
If we look for perfection, we are destined to set ourselves up for disappointment. True! Why? Because perfection is a means to an ‘end’, a finalisation of something without anything beyond. There’s no more, no growth, no expansion, no excitement, nothing to look forward to, it’s pretty much…’The End’.
Imperfections on the other end are different, they bring excitement, optimism, forward thinking, goals, future prospects, desires, passions, and most importantly…DREAMS!
As an example, in business, whether it’s an old business 150 years old, or a new business 5 days old, all businesses require ‘Innovation’. What do I mean by ‘Innovation’? Well…innovation is made up 2 main ingredients, which are ‘Errors’ and ‘Failures’. Without them, new ideas are not formed or founded upon.
Let me give you an example of such innovation. Take Thomas A Edison, the creator of what we now know of is the infamous ‘light bulb’. Thomas Edison, a man raised from humble beginnings worked very hard. Believe it or not, he went through thousands of failures, both trial and error, before reaching the final destination, which is the creation of the light bulb. But he did not stop there, he invented many other items as well, such as the motion picture camera, etc.
So you see, imperfections help us to improve and become better. It helps us grow, to become better. One saying I use often is, ‘Be Better Today Than You Were Yesterday!’.
This couldn’t be more true. Especially in today’s fast-paced environment. There are products & services in the future, that are yet to be created, that are yet to be founded, that are yet to be seen. Whatever the future brings us, may it bring us PROSPERITY.
With Peace, Love and Happiness,
